Spindare village

In collaboration with Environmental Peshmerga and the people of Spindare village, planted several trees, pine seeds, and local trees of the region on Gara Mountain.
This activity was carried out as a celebration of Kurdistan Flag Day on December 17.

Environment activity

‏A discussion titled “Using Tools to Achieve Success in Combating Plastic Pollution” was held to address the extensive harms of plastic and its significant impacts. Various solutions were proposed by the participants. The discussion took place on 10/07/2024, with the participation of the environment conservation groups.

Planting 350 Trees at DPU Campus

The second phase of Yak Dar’s symposium entails the planting of 350 trees on the Duhok Polytechnic University campus, with the active participation of students, the Peshmerga Center, and DPU students. This effort is focused on enhancing greenery along the sidewalks within the campus, and these trees will be carefully tended to. Goethe Institute has been our donor through Guan Eden program.

Environmental activity

Environmental activists and artists all across Iraq joint The Guan Edan program by Goethe institute Environmental Carnival that was held on 30th/11/2023 in Newroz park in the Center of Duhok. and was collaborated with Yak Dar.

Rizgari School

cleaning initiative at Rizgari School, including the planting of 50 trees. We extend our gratitude to our sponsor, 3GB, as well as to the Clean Green team, students, and volunteers who contributed to this endeavor.

A Day For Mountain

‌‏ ‌Yak Dar Organization starts with a visit to Zawa mountain, where more than 176 students and volunteers from the University of Duhok, united in harmony.  they lovingly planted 506 trees on Zawa mountain while diligently clearing away tourist debris.

Reducing the Usage of Plastic

On 20th December 2021 awareness about the risk of plastic pollution on our health and nature also on our future life, and it was supported by Youth Speak Organization Seed Grant.

Yak Dar symposium

Yak Dar’s first symposium , was discussed both air pollution causes and water problems in two discussion sessions with the support of the “Goethe” Institute. It hosted experts and environmental activists from various parts of the Kurdistan region (Iraq), in Duhok polytechnic camps. The second part of “Yak Dar” symposium focused on planting 350 trees in the institute.

My Tree project

Yak Dar Staff started to prepare the place for planting in Shewaz School in Tanahi after a seminar about the benefits of trees to our cities.
